Head Coaching Responsibilities
Complete a background check when required (currently every 2 years)
Verify Assistant Coaches have completed background checks
Attend Coaches Meeting (receive rosters, fundraisers, choose practices, etc)
Call (not just email) all players within 2 days of receiving roster
When an event (game or practice) is cancelled contact entire team
Always show up on time for events or get proper coverage from an assistant.
No Showing an event is unacceptable.
Pass out and collect fundraiser. Hand in to division director.
Pass out picture order forms, collect, give to division director, and hand out pictures when they arrive.
Collect league clothing order forms. Hand order forms in to Division Director. Distribute league clothing when it arrives.
Field Preparation -
All levels Unlock Bathrooms. Never leave code on key lock box (change to “0000” right after getting key)
Both U15 teams are responsible for flags and clock at Robbie Mills Field (if you did not set up the field, take care of it after the game)
All other levels - goals need to be unlocked and put on fields
Closing Fields -
Move goals to designated area and lock up as required
Pick up trash/water bottles/clothing left behind
be sure bathrooms are closed and locked
lights are off (not at Opechee, they are automatic).
Keys must be locked up at end of events with codes put at “0000”
U15 home team is responsible for running the game clock, updating the score accurately, and stopping the clock with 2 mins left. The controller must be put back in the cradle and locked up.
U10 and U15 coaches must enter scores online/through the app after games
All coaches are expected to maintain a proper level of enthusiasm and emotion throughout the season. Incidents occurring at soccer events that are detrimental to the league, volunteers, players, refs, or spectators will be reviewed by multiple board members, with coaches or board members expected to de escalate any situations as they arise.
